10/10 Take A Look Around The Map

People new to VR games will be excited to explore the levels of Bonelab. The VR game presents a dark and mysterious world that is teeming with objects that players can interact with. The stages of Bonelab are designed to pique the interest of players without giving a set of instructions to follow or quests to complete.

There is danger around every corner of the game. Players need to be careful around the map and take a closer look to find their way out. People can use the objects within the game to unlock new areas on the map. Rushing into places will get players killed.

9/10 Find The Key To Unlock The Prison Cell

The first chapter of the game lets players get their hands on a number of items. People can find barrels, axes, and documents scattered around the map. Gamers will need to find a specific key to unlock prison doors in the first stage.

Get to the room that has a skeleton trapped inside a cage. The room has a desk with a barrel and a document kept on top of it. Players can look below the desk to find a key that looks like a glowing orb. Place the key in the slot kept at the corner of the prison cell to open the doors to the next room.

8/10 Walk Through The Vents

Bonelab has several hidden locations that have to be ventured to cover new ground. The first chapter of the game can lead to quite a few dead ends. In the room with three computers on the desk, players will encounter robotic crawlers that are out for blood. Take down the robotic crawlers with melee weapons or guns to clear the area of hostile targets.

The edge of the room has a ladder next to a vent. Climb the ladder and open the vent door to gain access to a hidden pathway. These vents are dark, and navigating through them can be a challenge. Walk slowly across the vents to avoid falling through.

7/10 Use The Console To Place The Activators

Players will find the puzzles increasingly harder to solve as they progress through the story. In the Modules chapter of the game, players have to assemble six sources of power in the large hall to unlock the quarantined area of the map.

The console will display six locations on the screen. These locations are marked by a trail of blue and yellow lights. Players can use the gears on the console to move the magnet across the different sections of the large hall to collect the power sources. Place each of the six power sources on the pedestal on either side of the console to be able to unlock the quarantined area.

6/10 Use A Shield For Defense

Players will find that the world of Bonelab has plenty of enemies to fight. People can fight skeletons, mercenaries, robotic crawlers, and other types of enemies throughout the game. The FPS game lets people equip several different kinds of weapons to defend themselves.

Players can also equip a shield with one hand while they carry a weapon in the other. The shield can be especially useful while facing mercenaries and turrets in the game, as it can deflect bullets and other projectiles that can prove lethal. The shield can be replaced with another weapon at any time in the game.

5/10 Get A High Score At The Shooting Range

Players can enjoy various mini-games in Bonelab. There is a fun mini-game in the chapter Mine Dive that lets players take out custom creatures on a metal bar. Use the machine gun kept at the shooting range in the Mine Dive chapter to practice gunslinging skills.

Players can shoot bats for 10 points at the shooting range. Shooting a rat will fetch players 15 points and gunning down a snake will earn players 20 points. Destroy black bottles for 40 points and blue bottles for 60 points. Shooting ghosts will provide 100 points, shooting TNT gives 150 points, and knocking down a Gotcha will provide 200 points. Scores are displayed on a screen in front of the machine gun.

4/10 Rail Rage

Those who liked taking out the creatures in the shooting range will be excited about the next section of the Mine Dive chapter. Players can find a wooden railcar after moving past the shooting range. Crouch in the railcar to settle in and set the railcar into motion.

The railcar will travel through long corridors that are riddled with creatures on metal poles that players can destroy. Watch out for boulders, crates, and wooden planks that can block bullets from hitting the target. The total score accumulated while traveling in the railcar is projected at the end of the chapter.

3/10 Take Cover While Fighting

There are mercenaries loaded with guns all over the game. Incurring damage from mercenaries can cause players to stagnate between levels in Bonelab. A good strategy to use while fighting mercenaries is taking cover to avoid getting hit.

The player can take cover behind doors, pillars, and other objects while exploring the map in Bonelab. Players can wield guns in both hands to be able to shoot down enemies with convenience. Hiding behind a cover also lets players plan their attacks better. It’s also possible to find ammunition for guns while looking for cover.

2/10 Finish A Lap In Under 60 Seconds

Players can test their motor skills on an international track in Bonelab. The Monogon Motorway lets players take control of a Go-Kart to course through a racetrack in style. It can take a while to get used to the steering while on the racetrack.

The Go-Kart can be a challenge for newcomers to handle while taking sharp turns. Apply the brakes before hitting a curve to prevent from crashing the Go-Kart. Speeding Go-Karts can bump into railings and bushes on the racetrack, increasing the lap time on Monogon Motorway. Try to finish the lap in less than 60 seconds to clear the stage with satisfaction.

1/10 Try A Range Of Weapons

Bonelab offers a wide variety of weapons that can be used in the game. From an axe to a mace, there are several weapons that players can use to fight enemies with. Melee weapons, such as the sledgehammer and the axe, are particularly good at cracking open breakable objects.

Players can collect guns and ammunition to destroy enemies. Those who like a challenge can try using their bare hands to obliterate the enemies as an old-school technique of beating the game. Players who prefer to use guns in the game can get headshots to minimize the ammo they need to kill the enemies.

Released on September 29, 2022, Bonelab can be played on PC and Meta Quest 2.
